Joshua is a Clinical Psychologist, and has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Australian National University. Joshua is recognised by Medicare Australia as a qualified provider of psychological services. Joshua is currently working at both Burwood and Kingston locations.
Joshua's professional experience includes conducting therapy and assessments for adults and adolescents. Joshua supports clients to address behavioural, emotional and interpersonal difficulties with strategies from approaches that have a strong evidence base, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational interviewing.
Joshua has experience in working with a number of issues, including treating depression, anxiety and stress. Joshua is passionate about helping his clients in building confidence, increasing motivation, and effectively managing avoidant, or unhelpful behaviour.
Joshua also has experience in providing parenting skills training to assist parents support children with autism, oppositional behaviour, and anxiety issues. Joshua is passionate about supporting parents to work together with their children toward shared goals for the family.
Joshua's style of therapy is directed at assisting people to overcome the obstacles that hold them back from their greater goals in life. Joshua's focus is on helping people identify, understand and address the unhelpful patterns of thoughts and behaviours that end up holding them back from their potential. By empowering clients with helpful tools and different ways of thinking, Joshua aims to help clients to take action to develop meaningful and value-driven lives. Joshua practices with the highest level of respect for his clients, and this is reflected in his therapeutic style – working in partnership to help his clients move towards what they really want to be about in their lives. By asking the right questions and empowering clients with the proper tools, Joshua supports clients to understand and to take action in pursuit of their most important life goals and ambitions, while managing the things that get in the way.
Joshua is registered with Medicare as a provider of psychological therapy services, and therefore clients are eligible to obtain a rebate from Medicare or their health insurance provider where applicable - when referred by a GP as a part of a mental health plan.
